Last Saturday, myself along with other members from BZOCA were invited again by Boustead for the long awaited launch of the 2010 Nissan GTR R35 Spec 2. It was a great event that night held at Boustead showroom at Beribi and also a chance for us all to see even closer at the popular Japanese supercars that carry along a pricetag of around BND$175,000.

Congratulation to my brother Masreman on his nikah ceremony with love of his live Rani. The function was performed at Masjid Muhammad Jamalul Alam, Kuala Belait on the 3rd, July 2009. Closest relatives and friends are invited in this function. Alhamdullilah, everything went smoothly on that day.

On the previous 22nd of May 2009, our Muhammad turned 11 months already. For him, its another months to go before he turn into my 1 year old boy wonder. As for me, I turned 29 years old 5 days after Muhammad turned 11 months.

Looking back at my 29 years of life, I am thankful to Allah for what I have now alongside with my supportive loving wife and cheerful adorable Muhammad. Let them be a reason for me to keep on improving myself and in all aspects of life, Insyallah.

Well it took me some time to upload some of this pics in here. But then, better late then never right. I just took some random pics in that event. I even asked my friend Ronny to help me with the event photoshoot since he got much more experience and well equipped camera then I am. Its also kind of better to have two camera than one in such busy circumtances. Thanks anyway to Ronny for helping out and cover some of the angle for me. Hopefully we do not miss anything then. But in the end, everthing just went according to plan. There are so many peoples came on that day. Invitation for 370z "Prologue"

Last Saturday, myself alongside with other members from the B.Z.O.C.A. were invited by Nissan Boustead for the debut of Nissan 370z in Brunei. The launching was held at Sheraton Hotel in the capital. At the event, we were shown a presentation on about the latest Nissan 370z technology and then later checked out the car inside out ourselves. On the whole, it was an enjoyable night for all of us. As for me, it was an ecstatic moment to finally meet the Nissan 370z.

For the past few weeks, I hardly had any time to update the blog. I'm just too busy with all the assignments and projectwork that I needed to complete and submit on time before the start of the revision week at UBD. For now, I'm just glad all of that are over...but only for now. Well, I still needs to sit for the big exam in few days time though.

As for our Muhammad, he is growing so fast. He is getting bigger, stronger, crawling here and there, running around the house in his baby walker and he even grew a few tooth lately. Well, I uploaded some of the pics that I manage to randomly grab from folders in my laptop. So enjoy the pics.

Its been a very busy month for me lately. Assignments, project works, journal review and many more that I just needed to complete and submit during this few coming weeks. With all this coming my way, there are hardly any time for me to update any of the blogs. So I got this chance to edit few pics and post it here.

That Sunday, we took our Muhammad for another outing on his 8th months birthday. Where?! Well I guess you all could have guess it by watching through all this pics. We invited Den Fadly's family with their lovely daughter Sarah to join us on that day. Well its like "the more the merrier" kind of thing. But one thing that I remembered the most, it was a tiring day for all of us. But then you all know how kids are right? So lets just watch and enjoy the pics then.

Last Thursday night, we set up a function at home for the Papat Jambul ceremony for our son Muhammad. Papat Jambul is an important ceremony whereby families and friends gather to snip off a bit of hair from a baby. As for our Muhammad, we never expected he would be so calm during the whole event are taking place. Its like he knew what was happening around him and all he got to do was sit tight till the end of this ceremony. Alhamdullilah, everything came up just perfect that night. Lastly, myself and families would like to thanks to all that had came and helps in all sorts of contribution to make this small event a big sucess.

She was called Zoey and she live just next door to ours. They were our next door neighbor. We met her with mom and granddad yesterday evening. So we have a little bit of neighbor chit-chat. As for Muhammad, he acted a little bit strange though. Not like usual. Head always down, playing with his fingers, acted like he was doing something, well as if he was, shy of something, or someone? But above all, he is a big boy already. I think we can assume that we figure out what happen to him.

Rauf's day out

I promised Rauf to take him to the capital today. As expected, he woke up early than usual. So we decided to go up early taking our time and enjoying the day with him at the shopping mall. As for me, I took this opportunity to explore taking pictures with my Canon 450D with only the EF50mm f/1.8 lens. Among many that I had taken, here are some of my personal favorites.

So, what I had learned from my 450D? "Practice makes perfect."

Alhamdullilah, Muhammad are now 5 months old. He is very healthy and so playful with all the people around him. He even started to roll his body over to the crawling position. Apart from that, I think, he will talk a lot too when he got that chance to talk properly in the future because even now with his "baby talk", he gonna "talk" to you, to me and to everyone he feel comfortable with.

22nd, October 2008,
Today is Muhammad 4 month old birthday. As a present, my brother, Muhammad's uncle, had bought him this baby walker. It seem that lately, Muhammad's leg are getting stronger and stronger. He loves to be held up and have his feet touch the ground as though he’s standing. He also love to kick and bounce his feet around when we put him up on our lap. Learning how to stand independently is a huge prerequisite to walking. So, all you’ll need now is to expose Muhammad to more unrestricted floor time and he’ll learn to stand sooner rather than later.

Last Sunday, we were invited by Cikgu Hamidah to her open house in Tutong. So we went there along with Eden's family (Den & Kaneh). As for Muhammad, he just loved his "baby's day out" especially during this festive time. So our first stop, Eden's crib.

During last Ramadhan, I had this oppurtunity to go to Mr.Gembo's house with my wife and Muhammad. Well actually, earlier that day, I asked him about several SLR camera that he could recommend for an absolute beginner like myself. So in the end, he invited us all to his house instead for a first hand experience to the world of SLR camera.
Long story short, Mr.Gembo introduced me to his Canon 450D and I was amazed with the result. Well you can see it for yourself. In my own words, the quality, detail, colour, and contrast, everything was just perfect. This was only some of the pics taken by him. The one that I have, not as good as his but I can assured you that the quality of the pics that I took from his Canon 450D are much better than my Sony Cybershots.
After making few research here and there, then asking to those who have the experience about SLR camera, in the end I was left with either to buy Canon 1000D or Canon 450D. So my questions are, When, Where and Which to buy? Any help guys? Hehehehe...

A friend of mine, Saifol, had recently bought this Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 digital still camera with a price of around BND$8++. This SLR-like camera features a 27mm wide-angle Leica DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens with an 18x optical zoom.
The FZ28 also boasts with 10.1-megapixel resolution and adds a number of enhanced features that boost user fun and convenience, represented by an advanced iA (Intelligent Auto) mode.

In the other hand, Saifol also told me that Shamri owned the successor to the 300D, the new, smaller, 8 megapixel, EOS 350D (Digital Rebel XT). Not bad man ;)

For EOS 1000D depending from which angle you look at it, this model is either a stripped down 450D or a 'reheated' 400D. It have a 10 megapixel sensor, 2.5 in LCD monitor, 7-point AF system and no spot-metering (like the 400D) but gaining Live View with both phase- and contrast-detect AF, SD/SDHC for storage and a control and menu layout that is pretty much identical to the EOS 450D's. In fact, because it's based around the same Digic III processor, it shares an interface with almost every current Canon DSLR all the way up to the 1DsMkIII.

Last but not least, Canon EOS 450D, have 12 megapixel in a smaller body with a far wider range of functionality and features. Comes with a larger 3.0" LCD monitor, Live View with both passive and contrast detect AF, Spot metering, improved auto-focus, 3.5 fps continuous shooting a larger viewfinder and a switch SD/SDHC for storage (all previous cameras in this range were Compact Flash). Other features appear to be inherited from the EOS 40D; 14-bit image pipeline, Highlight Tone priority, optional High ISO noise reduction, 'My Menu' and display of the ISO sensitivity on the viewfinder status line. There's also the new stabilized kit lens.
I also just knew that here in Brunei, we refer to the EOS 450D by its European name; if you live in other parts of the world you'll know the camera by (in order of silliness) Rebel XSi or Kiss X2 Digital, but they're all the same actually.

Beware Melamine...!!! Warning to all...!!!

The Ministry of Health said the recalled White Rabbit candy from China, which is popular among children in Brunei, has a high level of melamine contamination. This has been proven based on the analysis carried out in Singapore and New Zealand.

The ministry has added another product named Ginbis to the tainted items list, in addition to milk products of YiLi brand, Vitamilk chocolate, peanut nougat, yoghurt chocolate, and candy nougat recalled previously.
The products should not to be sold in the country, the ministry has ordered.

Melamine is an industrial chemical used in the making of melamine resin for products like plastic, gum and paper.

The deadly chemical has been used in milk and dairy products to artificially raise the protein content. Exposure to melamine brings about kidney failure and poisoning of the urinary system.

Below are the latest list of product that have been affected by Melamine:

Dutch lady - Banana flavoured milk (250ml)

Dutch lady - Honeydew flavoured milk (250ml)

Dutch lady - Strawberry flavoured milk (1L)

The 4th day of raya...Open house edition

Sorry for the delay. I've been buzy lately because this week its the start of our second half of the first semester at UBD. So many works need to be done, normal lectures need to be attended. Anyway, I just got the time to edit some of the pictures and put it in here to share with you all. It was last Sunday where families and friends came to our house for raya. It was another buzy day at raya alrite.

Well actually there are many more of them that came on that day to our open house. The problem was, my camera ran out of battery because I forgot to charge it the day before. I better keep in mind about this problem next time and make sure it should not have happen.

Today is the 4th day of Hari Raya. It is also the last day of the school holiday and most family used this time to travel to distance families and friends house to celebrate Hari Raya.

Me and my wife have to go back to Bandar today. We have to reach JIS around 8:45pm because just as soon as the students arrived at the boarding house, my wife need to be around just in case if some of them need the medical helps.

So we left house in KB after I performed my Solat maghrib at the masjid. At first it was a normal drive back home until we reached at the end of the Lumut highway area where it all begin. From where I am sitting, it was a long queue up ahead. From the U-turn to go to Lumut, it took us around 45 minutes just to reach BMC construction site. Even after the long slow queue, the traffic were still very slow until we reached the Telisai Highway.

Well, long story short, we left KB around 7:00pm, we arrived at JIS around 9:30pm. But then we still manage to reach JIS before the students buses because they were also caught up in the traffic jams.

Let me introduced you to Muhammad Abdul Fattah Ar-Rauf. At the age of just 3 months and 2 weeks old, usually I have to work really hard and do all sort of thing just to make and see him smile. But then, when he is in a really good mood, you better go grab a camera and set it up to the multiple shot mode and just be ready. I know I did. And this are only some of my few favourite :)

As expected, its going to be a very busy day indeed. Families from as far as Miri, bandar and some friends and relatives in KB area came. There are even some others who came that I did not get a chance to take any picture of them because, the lack of "staff members" at home made me, brother, sister or even my wife as an automatic substitute when it is necessary. Well I guess you all know what I mean ;)

Only in Syawal

Perhaps there are among us who feel that there were many shortcomings done in the last fasting month of Ramadan. Or perhaps some might thought that their ibadah were not performed perfectly.

In the month of Syawal, there are many acts which can be performed to complement and continue from our acts in the past month.

The complementary ibadah referred to is the six days fast (Puasa sunat 6 hari). It is fasting for six days in the month of Syawal. Whether it is performed continuously or alternately, as long as it is performed in Syawal, it will be accepted.

The fast of 6 days in Syawal has many benefits. Among them, as reported in a hadith which says:

Which means: He who fasts in the month of Ramadan followed by 6 days in Syawal, it is as if he has fasted for 1 year. (“Barangsiapa yang berpuasa Ramadhan , kemudian diikuti dengan 6 hari daripada Syawal, adalah seperti berpuasa setahun.”)

It means that if you complete the fast of 1 month of Ramadan and continue with 6 days of fasting in Syawal, you will be rewarded with the rewards of someone who has fast for 1 full year.

The 6 days of fasting in Syawal is like a Rawatib prayer that completes any incomplete prayer. And surely in the course of our fasting in Ramadan, there must have been numerous mistakes that we have made. So by fasting 6 days in Syawal, it creates an opportunity for us to fix for those mistakes in our fasting month of Ramadhan.

Our 1st day of Hari Raya.

First of all, my family and I just wanted to wish you all Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Fasting month is already over. I hope I’ve changed something in myself throughout the blessed month of Ramadhan and I hope it does the same to you too. As for today, Muhammad celebrated his first glimpse of Hari Raya at the age of 3 months and 10 days.

This morning, thousand of KBiens came to the Masjid Muhammad Jamalul Alam Kuala Belait, to perform the solat sunat aidilfitri. Some came as early as after the solat subuh, not only to perform the solat sunat aidilfitri but also to recite the takbir hari raya together with others.

As for me, I woke up early today but I'm taking too much time at home preparing myself before going to the masjid. Maybe because I thought that since the masjid is too close to my house I could take all the time.

In the end, when I was there, it was already time to perform the solat sunat aidilfitri and the masjid were already full of people inside out. I tried to force myself to have my solat inside the masjid.

Finally, its the first time that I perform my solat sunat aidilfitri on the walkway of the masjid. Well I thought I deserve it though. I should have prepare myself earlier and came to the masjid 20-30 minutes before the imam perform the solat sunat aidilfitri.

During this day, it is indeed a colorful day where man and women all dress up in their best dress of the day to attend the solat sunat aidilfitri.

After performing the solat sunat aidilfitri, then we listened to the hari raya aidilfitri khutbah address by the imam.

Well let just start with the news that it's confirm that our neighbouring Malaysian celebrates Hari Raya today, while we Bruneian, begins the celebration marking the end of Ramadhan tomorrow after 30 days of fasting.
